The Tourist Bus from Cabanaconde to Puno is operated by 2 transports. From Cabanaconde to Chivay is a minivan of a maximun 22 people and the from Chivay to Puno is run with Nativa Express
- The minivan picks you up at the Hostel Pachamama at 9am.
- There will be short stops along the way to Chivay. Hot springs optional
- You will be dropped of the the office of Nativa Express to change the bus. You have some free time to eat.
- At 13:00 the bus departs to Puno.
- The ride includes some stops at Patapamta to see the volcanoes, Pampa Cañahuas to see vicunas, lagoon of Lagunillas and final stop near the center of Puno Aprox 19:30.
We recommend you to book in time. This service can not be booked in the same day.
You can take the local bus back to Arequipa and from Arequipa there will be more cheaper option, but the disadvantage is that you spend all the time in the bus and you arrive to Puno late. Other option is by going with the local bus from Cabanaconde to Pampa Canahuas (4hrs) get off on the route and wait for the buses which comes from Arequipa, this process is also not a good idea and you may wait long time to catch a bus that have empty seats.
