We recommend this tour for those who want to see Cruz del Condor by bike or just transport. Cruz del Condor is one of the best viewpoint in all Peru to see condors flying, but it is also the most visited spot in all Colca Canyon. Staying in Cabanaconde give us the best option to visit the viewpoint, 16km, and be earlier before the groups come. Most of the time Condors fly from 7am to 9am or afternoon from 15:00 to 17:00 and we have good chances to see them flying. The bike tour is just downhill and not experience required. Itinerary Bike Downhill From Cruz del Condor to Cabanaconde

Morning Tour 7am to 9am

This tour begins from Cabanaconde. You can stay at our Hostel Pachamama.

We depart from Pachamama Hostel at 07:00 am towards Cruz del Condor. We see Condors for 1 hour and we get ready to bike Downhill to Cabanaconde, this part is on a pavement route. There will be an uphill for approx. 1km, not so bad. We reach the viewpoint of Tapay. Here you can enjoy a different view of Colca Canyon and the villages of Tapay - San Huan de Chuccho - Coshñirwa and Malata. From the viewpoint of Tapay you continue all the way down to Cabanaconde.

Afternoon Tour 14:00 to 17:00

We depart from Pachamama Hostel at 14:00 towards Cruz del Condor and back at 17:00. In the afternoon there won't be almost none of people at this viewpoint. Chance to see condors are also good. The difference from the morning is the Condors return to their caves and you can see sometimes condors at long distance, but it all depends on the nature. I have seen many times condors very close, what I like from this tour is that there are not people and the place is just magic, quite and the colors of the light are much better.
